Palm Sunday

Palm leaves in Sibu
Palm leaves here.

After posting on the topic of lent. Today, I will write something about Palm Sunday. Yesterday, I went to the church to celebrate on what we called Palm Sunday. So, what is the story behind this celebration? Well, it was actually celebrating the day when Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem while people waved palm leaves and cheered at him. Unfortunately, less than a week later, Jesus was killed. The palm leaves that were waved in joy became ashes of sorrow. So, in our church, we use to keep the palm leaves from Palm Sunday till next year. Then, we burn them and mix them with some water to form ashes, to be used again during Ash Wednesday. Palm Sunday actually is the last week of lent season and beginning of Holy Week. OK, back to what happen yesterday. First, i went to the prayer room to prepare for my confession. Guess what? I have to queue up for making a confession. Since Good Friday is just around the corner, everyone started to go for confession. After confession, I went around the church to search for palm leaves. Finally, I manage to get one for free. One thing I noticed is that the palm that they used was really different from that I saw in Sibu. All of us were asked to stand outside the church and waved our palm leaves and sang a song named 'Hosana#$@%'( forgot the name already). After that, we return to our place and started listen to the gospel, and things just goes like what we always do in the church. We are required to take the blessed palm leaves home. Some people believe that it can help to bless our family and so on. Raymond believe it can help to chase away ghost. Ok!that is all i want to share with you people. God bless!
